Wild Mushroom Foraging Tours

Welcome to Fungified Farm’s Wild Mushroom Tours! Our goal is to provide a personal experience where you can learn about foraging for wild mushrooms. We start each tour with a talk to familiarize you with mushroom lingo.  You will receive a digital handout to refer to later as you continue to find mushrooms after the tour. Your knowledgeable guide will help you learn how to safely identify wild edible mushrooms.  Your guide is a passionate mushroom forager and is Wild Foraging Certified in PA.

Each season has different mushrooms that are fruiting. All mushrooms are dependent on weather. We schedule tours when you will have the best chance of finding edible varieties. Some tours will result in hauls of edible varieties and others will yield many mushrooms and other plants, but nothing for the dinner pot. We are in talks with nature to work with us, but so far, we haven’t made any headway.

You can purchase a tour at anytime of the year. We only forage in the spring, summer and fall. We will contact you to set up a date to schedule your tour. We primarily do tours during the week so ensure the peak number of species.

All tours are fully customizable to fit your experience, family and location. We are happy to work with a wide range of experiences levels and ages.  We are even happy to come to your property and help you identify what is one your land. Due to COVID-19, we are currently only doing individuals and family groups. We are not doing large group tours. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun activity.

Most excursions leave in the morning and are finished by mid-afternoon. 9am is the normal starting time. Travel times to the tour vary wildly and are dependent on the site location. It normally takes 2-4 hours of travel time. We then spend 1 to 3 hours foraging. Guests need to provide their own transportation.

We recommend our fellow mushroom hunters bring a backpack with snacks and drinks. Please wear sturdy footwear and rain gear if it is wet. Please bring a knife (it doesn’t need to be sharp-even plastic works for most mushrooms). We provide paper bags. You can bring your phone for pictures, but there maybe poor reception in some foraging areas, so plan on sending out posts later in the day.

$75 a person or $150 for a family up to 4 people. Children under 12 are always free.
