Oyster Mushrooms, Chèvre (Goat Cheese) and Crusty Bread Recipe
Make extra- This is hard to share otherwise
I don’t want to cook a ton in the hot weather so I am going
super simple this week. It was delightful to have this easy 10-minute recipe
turnout so good that I felt like hoarding it. Crisp, crunchy bread, creamy goat
cheese and rich mushrooms-this was like a bite of heaven. Honestly, just
writing about this dish and I am getting hungry. I will be making this one
again. The first step is to come to your local Farmers Market. Pick up some
crusty bread, goat cheese (buy it at the grocery store if you have to), and
some of our chestnut and oyster mushrooms. The mushrooms smelled so good as
they cooked. I just stood there enjoying the aroma.
Chop the mushrooms, green onions, and one to two cloves of garlic and then fry
in olive oil. Give your favorite crusty bread a quick toast in the toaster oven
or air-fryer. Spread on some chèvre goat cheese. Chèvre is soft goat cheese
that is best when fresh. If you are lucky enough to taste the real chèvre
fresh, you will never go back to eating goat cheese anywhere else. I never
liked goat cheese until I tried Amazing Acres fresh made chèvre.
Amazing Acres chèvre has an amazing flavor profile that blows grocery store cheeses out of the water. They are 100% family run and their team is all female! Amazing Acres sources the majority of the ingredients from local producers. It is made within days of me eating it and you can taste the difference. I used the creaked pepper in this recipe and it gave it just the right kick. Roasted Garlic, Smoked Onion, or even Dill would be amazing with our mushrooms.
However, you can substitute cream cheese if you can’t find or don’t like goat cheese. Top with our mushrooms. Serve with some asparagus or other fresh greens and enjoy. It only took me 10 minutes from start to table.
